Stand still and consider the wondrous works of God.

Sunshine swirled with blood

Light and life in one bloom

Inside your green wrap

Inside your yellow skin

Your tapered bud

You were so small and tight 

Then you curled open one day

Graceful without even a struggle

Showing on your face—you

Swirled open and smiled at the world.
