There is not a sprig of grass that shoots
uninteresting to me.
Thomas jefferson
Framed by barbed wire
August is picture perfect with
Green grass beginning to brown
Along the pasture fence,
Set with lemony wildflowers,
Alive with wind and heat,
Inhabited by leggy grasshoppers,
Watched over by yellow-throated
Meadowlarks singing
From fence post perches,
Inspected daily by gossamer-winged
Dragonfly drones.
