Iris

Her name was Iris,
Not Daisy,
Not Violet,
Not Jasmine, 
Not Rose,
Nor Zinnia
She sprang suddenly in the spring
At the first warmth and rain
She came a surprise, a fragile delight
So we named her Iris.
