Autumn sunshine lights 

Pumpkins waiting in wobbly rows 

To be chosen by eager children 

For Jack-o-lantern carving, 

For ghostly October nights.

Parents wait for pumpkin pies, 

And sweet nut-filled breads 

For times with family and friends

Around Thanksgiving dinner tables.
