Peach blooms

Even a rainy day under a gray sky

 is beautiful when the peach tree blooms.

It is worth a walk in the cold drizzle 

to look at the blossoms close

 and see the sprays of leaves beginning to uncurl. 

 The scent on a wind can fill an lonely heart with hopes. 

The color is the perfect pink 

of a first daughter's first Sunday dress.

Sunlight captured? 

No...

Still elusive,

Mine for a only a moment

Then gone.

Skaters

Pear tree blooms like graceful figure skaters

 in flouncy white skirts,

  held aloft by the sleek arms of 

their handsome dance partners.

Blue Pansy

Bulbs

 sprout among 

the winter's blue pansies.

 Soon the pink 

of hyacinth will add its scent

 and the tulips will wave 

purple and red chalices 

at the sky.

Ginger Dog

Ginger is a lab/hound mix.

 She enjoyed helping me weed the flowerbed. 

She's excited about spring's arrival. 

She rolled in the dry grass and leaves I pulled free. 

Such a lot of help!

She was absolutely lit up with cheer.

Today is full of promise.

When a bloom smiles at you as you pass,

 Kisses you shyly when you stop.

Blesses you with fragrance to hold on to.

 That God is near?

Waking up 

To sunlight and warmth, 

Tulip tree,

Embellished with hundreds 

Of dark pink buds,

Like parasols

They unfurl

In a day

Each a masterpiece,

Each a glory.
